James 'Jab' Bowles, an Acehe sponsored pilot, has won third place in last week's competition at BMFA's Queens Cup, flying with Acehe 1300mah 75C lipo packs.
This two-day event was held at Popham Airfield, Hampshire, UK on the 30 - 31st July.
Queens cup, approved by Elizabeth II the queen, is believed to be the fourth oldest sporting trophy in existence. The trophy is of Irish silver and dates from around 1719 and sits on a wooden base.
James was up against some of world's toughest racing competitors such as Luke Bannister, Chi Lau, Aaron Bromfield and Richard Whelan. Many pilots also thought the racing track laid out at this event particularly difficult to master, and crashes became fate of many. After a couple of knocking about, James even had to pull through to the finishing line with lipo hanging under his quad.
Later after the game he commented on facebook "Thank you Acehe Lipo I managed to survive 3 laps with the lipo hanging like that, definutly made the split S gate a challenge".
Big congratulations to James, we wish you every success in the future.
